You sweat every day

You sweat every day, even more so in summer time. Sometimes you won’t notice, but you may be dehydrated. Pay close attention to the following symptoms: dry or sticky mouth, thirst, dark yellow pee, not peeing very much, headache and muscle cramps. If your symptoms include sleepiness, lack of energy irritability or confusion, your dehydration may be severe. Also look out for sunken eyes, dry skin, or rapid heartbeat.

Source of energy and hydration

Raw vegetables provide an excellent source of energy and hydration. Fruits are a great source as well, but be cautious with the amount of sugar you are consuming. Eat sour fruits alone in the morning to start your day. Adding fruits like green apples, cranberry juice, lemons, limes, black currant juice, berries, kiwi and pine apple are great additions to your diet or simply to your water. Consuming fruit with a protein or fiber, an example like almonds, can help control blood sugar levels.

Things to know before you get started.

  • The taste will be stronger the longer the fruit sits on the water. As little as 15 min is all it takes to give your water a mild flavor.
  • Good news! The fruit is good for more than one batch so that you can refill with water. Each use will lose a little bit of taste, but it is still delicious!
  • For best flavor and nutrition, drink the water the same day! If you choose citrus fruits, they will peel and make your water slightly bitter.
  • You can use regular water or with sparkling water.

The following recipe will make one quart or four cups of infused water, plus however more you earn with refills. For a fruit flavor explosion, you can combine kiwi and strawberries, and it will also make for a beautiful presentation.
