Pay close attention to the following symptoms: dry or sticky mouth, thirst, dark yellow pee, not peeing very much, headache and muscle cramps. If your symptoms include sleepiness, lack of energy irritability or confusion, your dehydration may be severe. Also look out for sunken eyes, dry skin, or rapid heartbeat.
Source of energy and hydration
Raw vegetables provide an excellent source of energy and hydration. Fruits are a great source as well, but be cautious with the amount of sugar you are consuming. Eat sour fruits alone in the morning to start your day. Adding fruits like green apples, cranberry juice, lemons, limes, black currant juice, berries, kiwi and pine apple are great additions to your diet or simply to your water. Consuming fruit with a protein or fiber, an example like almonds, can help control blood sugar levels.
